I am going to list here the monologues and dialogues we work on in class. In spring, we will select which will be mandatory in the Final Exam. Here is last year’s Speaking Test list: June & September 2010-11 Speaking Test: Final Speaking Test Evaluation Sheet (1 pdf page). Your copy will be similar.

UNIT 1

Dialogue D1 (or I1): your first tdialogue, “Nice to meet you” and “Can you spell your name”.
Monologue 1.6: The Numbers 1-20 + spelling them – Listen to the Numbers 1-20 (video) – More numbers
Monologue 1.9: The Days of the Week + spelling them – Listen to the Days of the Week
Here is the transcript: Spelling – unit 1: D1, 1.6 and 1.9 (1 page) – Print it! Listen to the ABC! Video: listen to the ABC
Dialogue: Interview 1.19  and 1.20 (the most important dialogue in this unit)
Dialogues 1.35 and 1.37 (Practical English)

Extra!: a wonderful teacher in Burgos has collected questions and answers by unit in a table and then recorded an audio (scroll to the bottom). Have a look!: Unit 1. About you

:) End-of-course Monologue Example: Talking about yourself (from the Talking People Podcast) :)
End-of-course Dialogue Example: see below, “Project – Designing model End-of-course Speaking Tests” for a transcript of a comprehensive example.

UNIT 2

Monologues: MTB (1-4) on p. 16, 2.15 (describing a photo with loved ones) or M2 (describing your photo). Remember that the Writing for Unit 2 is good inspiration for the End-of-course monologue for Unit 1!
Dialogues: 2.4 (and 2.5), and the interview on p. 19, which we will call I2. Plus, 2.17 and 2.18 (the dialogues of Practical English)

Extra!: a wonderful teacher in Burgos has collected questions and answers by unit in a table and then recorded an audio (scroll to the bottom). Have a look!: Unit 2 About your family

:) End-of-course Monologue Example: Describing people in photos (family, your relatives, and friends) (from the TP Podcast) :)
End-of-course Dialogue Example: see below, “Project – Designing model End-of-course Speaking Tests” for a transcript of a comprehensive example.

Remember to listen carefully to 3.2! And do 3.3, too, we forgot!!!
